Men’s Summer Fashion 2011

Don’t worry guys, I haven’t forgotten about you. Summer has begun here in Oklahoma, and I know you boys want to stay cool, yet trendy. Well fellas, here’s your summer fashion guide.

Color

Go big! It’s about bright colors and slim fits. Don’t be outdone by the women’s bright peacock colors, you can sport these brights just as well as the ladies. Sun-faded colors will balance out whatever bolder colors you’re wearing - think greens, reds, yellows, or blues.
If you can only choose one color, let it be blue. Compliment it with orange, red, or white and you’ll be set. If color is our of your comfort zone, stay safe by pairing one brightly colored piece with quieter apparel – khaki or white. Best bet is to grab a few polos and stretchy tees in your favorite bold colors, and pick up some nautical stripes while you’re at it.

Fabric

Linen and cotton will keep the sweat to a minimum. Chinos are here to stay, so pair them with a soft stretch tee and you’ll be looking fresh and fashionable. Newcomer’s hemp and bamboo are also sensible options, plus they’re environment-friendly. Jeans are straight-leg, medium rise, and dark washed.

Khaki

Opt for a slimmer look – lower rises, slim-lined legs and backsides that don’t sag. You’ll need a good pair of khakis to balance the bold colors of the season.

Swimwear

Solids and subtle prints are top picks. Skip the Hawaiian print. Choose a suit that sits just below the hip and hits mid-thigh.

Shoes

A pair of sneakers for everyday wear, flip –flops for casual days in the sun, boat shoes for dressy-casual occasions and some espadrilles are excellant options.

Have anything you’d like to add to my list?
